Marvel Showcases ‘Star Wars’ Figure Variant Cover

Marvel Showcases ‘Star Wars’ Figure Variant Cover Marvel Comics is looking to go very, very big with the debut of Star Wars in January with the new ongoing series that’s being written by Jason Aaron with artwork by John Cassaday. While we’re hearing that it’ll have over a million print run for the issue that will be distributed in a lot of places, what’s drawing a lot of attention are the variant covers. we’ve see a few of them already, from Skottie Young to Joe Quesada and Alex Ross among others and now a new one has landed that’s utterly delightful for old school fans who were ecstatic to get this as a figure back in the day.

Now, finding one of these for yourself? Probably near impossible without paying a high price. It makes me wish they’d do a book of just variant covers for the fans…

The first issue is set to land on January 14th, 2015 in print and digital form.

Plot concept: Luke Skywalker and the ragtag band of rebels fighting against the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory yet-the destruction of the massive battle station known as the Death Star. But the Empire’s not toppled yet! Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and the rest of the Rebel Alliance as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor. Written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), this is the Star Wars saga as only Marvel Comics could make it!
