‘Ushio & Tora’ Ending Song Anime CD/DVD Release Spot Arrives Tokuma Japan continues to do so solid promotion for their new series Ushio & Tora and that means getting the word out on the music. The latest piece that they’re making a move on is to promote the upcoming CD+DVD release of the closing theme song Hero, which is being performed by Sonar Pocket. The release has a lot going for it and you can see the details below as well as just enjoying the new spot. The release is scheduled for August 5th, 2015 with the CD only version priced at 1,000 yen and the CD+DVD edition priced at 2,970 yen.

The show was recently revealed to be a 39 episode one. The plan for the show is to do the first twenty-six episodes starting in July and run it until the end of December 2015. Then the final thirteen-episode arc will come back in April 2016, where it’ll finish off by dealing with events from the final battle in the manga.

The anime adaptation is directed by Satoshi Nishimura with animation done by MAPPA and studio Voln. They’ll be working off of scripts by Toshiki Inoue and character designs by Tomoko Mori. The group Kinniku Shojo Tai will be handling the opening theme song for the series while Sonar Pocket is handling the ending theme

Ushio & Tora comes from the manga by Kazuhiro Fujita, which had an anime OVA adaptation was done back in the early 90′s that ADV Films licensed and released years ago on VHS and DVD. The manga originally ran for 33 volumes between 1990 and 1996 and Fujita has done a couple of little things with it since there, largely for charity.

Plot concept: Ushio thinks that his father’s talk of an ancient ancestor impaling a demon on a temple altar stone with the legendary Beast Spear is nuts, but when he finds the monster in his own basement, Ushio has to take another look at the family legend! To save his friends and family from the invading spirits, Ushio is forced to release Tora from his captivity. But will the creature prove to be worse than the curse?
