While there have been a few attempts over the years, the recent push towards science fiction films is giving studios the feeling that maybe this time is the time to bring about The Stars My Destination. The story comes from Alfred Bester as it was originally serialized back in 1956 in Galaxy magazine under the name Tiger! Tiger! before it was compiled as The Stars My Destination. The work had a number of prescient areas to it and has been considered one of the best science fiction stories written in the 20th century.
The property has been picked up by Paramont Pictures for producer Mary Parent. Previous attempts have had people such as Richard Gere and Paul W.S. Anderson interested in bringing it to life.
Plot concept: Marooned in outer space after an attack on his ship, Nomad, Gulliver Foyle lives to obsessively pursue the crew of a rescue vessel that had intended to leave him to die.
