After recently telling fans that there should be news soon for Captain Marvel fans, it looks like we’ll be getting something formal sooner rather than later. It’s now being reported that Marvel is going to go with the teaming of writers Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve for the film. What’s interesting, and becoming more common, is that Marvel Studios had them write separate treatments for the film and is now bringing them together to pull together the best concepts and build a better beast. Perlman is a known quantity for fans as she wrote the original treatment for Guardians of the Galaxy and is credited as the co-writer of the final screenplay with James Gunn. Mg LeFauve is the co-writer on the upcoming and anticipated Pixar film Inside Out.
Captain Marvel is set to premiere on July 6th, 2018.
Character concept: Captain Marvel is an Air Force pilot named Carol Danvers who acquires superpowers after an accident in which her DNA is fused with that of an alien. She originally appeared in early 1968 and has gone through numerous changes over the years and held the name of Ms. Marvel for a lot of it. Check out her complete history here .
