Ryan Gosling continues to be a busy actor that has him choosing a range of roles that appeals to him, having been stuck in the TV realm early in his career and not wanting to play the same thing that often. Something different is definitely in the offing for him if the talks pan out though as he’s in discussions for the leading role in Blade runner, the sequel to the original film that takes place decades after the original. With Harrison Ford recently on board, Gosling would take center stage with it as Ford’s character is set to have a minor role overall. Gosling has one film set for release this year with Weightless and is currently involved with two films that are in production with The Nice Guys and The Big Short.
The film recently found its director, after Ridley Scott found himself with too many other commitments. The project will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who workd on two films in 2013 with Prisoners and Enemy and is currently filming Sicario. The script is being written by Hampton Fancher, who co-wrote the original, along with Michael Green.
Original Film Concept: In a signature role as 21st-century detective Rick Deckard, Harrison Ford brings his masculine-yet-vulnerable presence to this stylish noir thriller. In a future of high-tech possibility soured by urban and social decay, Deckard hunts for fugitive, muderous replicants – and is drawn to a mystery woman whose secrets may undermine his soul.
